FINAL UPDATE: RIDGECREST ELECTIONS

November 1, 2026
Ridgecrest California
Below are Posts relative to the elections for the Ridgecrest city council and the IWV Water District in California. Click on any line in the Index below to Jump to that item.
For Mayor
Jeremy “JV” Vaughan may be the finest and most qualified candidate with the highest integrity to run for the city council in 40 years, and he was the CO at NAWS China Lake during a very difficult time as a result of the Covid pandemic.
For Council
Tammy Charlon-Bouyer is a native of Ridgecrest and daughter of a man who has given decades of service to the people of Ridgecrest and the Indian Wells Valley for over 50 years, Gary Charlon. I still remember him plowing through the line when he played football for the Burros. I have no doubt she brings more experience and understanding of the people that live in the valley than anyone else because she works in the insurance business.
Lawrence Gaceta is the one of the most fascinating and intriguing candidates for public office that I’ve ever seen in my 60 years of being an observer of politics and politicians. Mr. Gaceta is a proven leader of warfighters and a retired Master Chief from the U.S. Navy.
For Water District (Very Important!)
Incumbent candidates for the Indian Wells Valley Water District are Stan Rajtora and David Saint-Amand. There should be no doubt in your mind about voting for them to serve on the Board of the water district for four more years. We thank them for their service to the community and for the support of your private property water rights!
I wish them all victory on Tuesday, November 1, 2026. Grab a neighbor and get out to vote on TUESDAY Ridgecrest, rain, wind or shine!

P.S. It’s quite possible that we’ll see Ron Strand in handcuffs someday. One can hope the prosecutors do the right thing.
