AI TECHNOCRACY: “The Greatest Betrayal in Human History Has Just Taken Place” – Patrick M. Wood

The word for the day is “Technocracy”

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific technological elite.President Dwight D. Eisenhower, January 17, 1961

Inyokern California

We all know something is wrong. The uproar over a proposed AI data center in a small town in the Mojave Desert isn’t unique to Inyokern California, and the controversy isn’t just about the water and energy these facilities use. It’s not about the environment either. It’s something else entirely.

Then what is it? Yes, some of controversy is about AI, but AI is only a tool of something far more insidious. We all have a feeling that something is about to happen that might be irreversible, and it affects everything around us, our quality of life and our Republic.

Patrick M. Wood informs us that it’s already happened.

“The Greatest Betrayal in Human History Has Just Taken Place”

Imagine sitting in a room full of MAGA Republicans listening to a respected author describing what he believes is a fiat accompli under the Administration of President Donald J. Trump:

“The Greatest betrayal in human history has just taken place. It has strip-mined our rights as free citizens, while delivering us into a digital gulag. Is this truly the end of the ‘American Experiment?’ We didn’t ask for it. We didn’t vote for it. We weren’t consulted, nor did we give informed consent. Instead, we were tricked, deceived, and gaslighted at every turn.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

The Final Betrayal, How Technocracy Destroyed America (A Cautionary Tale)

Mr. Wood seemed almost despondent while talking about the book. At the conclusion of his presentation, the stunned silence in the room was deafening. It’s happened, but nobody really understood what was happening. Maybe we were all in denial? We all know that something is going wrong in America. It’s out of our control, it’s very dangerous, and we didn’t vote for it.

The following is a book report on “The Final Betrayal, How Technocracy Destroyed America” by Patrick M. Wood and Courtenay Turner. This Post also includes a number of recent news stories that have occurred since the book was published, further making the case that the Technocracy is here to stay. What can we do about it?

Technocracy, the Dark Horse of the New World Order

“The dark horse of the New World Order was never Communism, Socialism or Fascism: It has always been Technocracy! Started in the 1930’s, re-introduced by the Trilateral Commission in 1973 as the ‘New International Economic Order,’ Technocrats have staged a sweeping coup d’état in plain sight in Washington, DC. during the Trump presidency.“- Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

I met Patrick M. Wood a few months ago after he gave a presentation to a small group of Republicans in Payson Arizona. He’d just released his latest book called The Final Betrayal, How Technocracy Destroyed America. Patrick appeared to be tired, as anyone would be while recovering from a recent heart attack. With his wife driving, they made the effort to travel 100 miles from Phoenix to present his book. I’m sure he felt a duty to keep fighting the good fight. He didn’t need to be there, knowing he’d be preaching to the choir, and he didn’t need the money he’d make by selling bad-news books.

People introduce me as “The living expert on Technocracy.”

The Final Betrayal, How Technocracy Destroyed America
by Patrick M. Wood and Courtenay Turner

Patrick Wood is a leading and critical expert on Sustainable Development, Green Economy, Agenda 21, 2030 Agenda and historic Technocracy. He is the author of Technocracy Rising: The Trojan Horse of Global Transformation (2015) and co-author of Trilaterals Over Washington, Volumes I and II (1978-1980) with the late Antony C. Sutton. Wood remains a leading expert on the elitist Trilateral Commission, their policies and achievements in creating their self-proclaimed “New International Economic Order” which is the essence of Sustainable Development on a global scale.

Books by Patrick Wood

Wood has spent his life studying and researching global-macro politics and economics. He co-authored Trilaterals Over Washington with the late Antony C. Sutton, a researcher and scholar who spent a lifetime writing books while investigating America’s powerful elites, including one of the more well-known secret societies behind American power, Yale’s Skull and Bones Society. Both President George H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush were members. See: Antony Sutton: The Stanford Scholar Who Exposed the Secret Society Behind American Power for more information.

It was difficult listening to Mr. Wood’s presentation, because I also have the historical awareness of the players that brought us to our current political and economic circumstances as well as the technical background to understand what we’re up against. I get it.

“Fear not” was the inscription on the signed copy of my book. Those two words lifted my spirit. Patrick Wood is fearless, and he’s exposed the gameplan of our technocratic oligarchs, the most powerful and richest men and women on earth.

Rare Bipartisan Agreement: AI Will Do More Harm Than Good for Society

I believe that Americans are intuitively aware of the threats posed to our civil liberties and our Constitutional Republic by the Technocracy. It’s why a small desert community immediately reacted in opposition to a proposed data center in their community.

A new national survey from Marquette University Law School should give the AI industry serious pause. According to the poll, roughly 70 percent of Americans believe artificial intelligence will do more harm than good for society. Even more striking, the skepticism cuts across party lines. Poll Director Charles Franklin put it bluntly: “It really is striking … there’s pretty much bipartisan skepticism … That’s an awful lot of partisan agreement, where we normally see Republicans and Democrats on opposite ends.” Authored by Donald Kendal via The Epoch Times on Zerohedge.com.

President Eisenhower warned us of the potential for a terminal event such as this in 1960 during his farewell address to the nation; public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific technological elite“.

Graduation Speaker Praised AI At UCF And The Students Booed Her Off Stage

Is it possible the graduates at USF are booing AI, or is it Technocracy they’re really angry about?

DOGE, Hyperscale and Elon Musk

“The Department of Government Efficiency was already staffed and waiting to pounce on day one after the inauguration. Elon Musk had already called for Technocrats to come to his aid to secure the data flows from primary agencies” across the whole of government.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

It’s now apparent that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was meant to begin the housecleaning process that would clear the stale and entrenched bureaucracy from the federal government’s workforce while opening up the data pipelines throughout the federal government. Approximately 300,000 federal jobs were cut in 2025, representing 10% of the federal workforce.

In addition, the massive amount of data accumulated throughout every department and agency, using old computers and networks, would be entirely inadequate to perform the task of integrating government systems with AI in the Technocratic framework of Hyperscale. The mechanism or model for hyperscale is called accelerationism, and DOGE was simply the first entree’.

Hyperscale is the ability of a system, architecture, or data center to expand resources such as compute, storage, memory, and networking dynamically as demand increases, without compromising performance or reliability. Unlike traditional data centers that “scale up” by upgrading individual hardware components, hyperscale systems “scale out” by adding large numbers of servers that work together as a single distributed system. This approach allows organizations to manage enormous volumes of data and serve millions of users simultaneously. Wikipedia

AI and data centers will grow out to scale with no interruption, just like storage, memory and processing speeds have increased geometrically over the last 40 years. What’s happened in the last 2 years of “tech” is unprecedented, and it’s about to break everything considered normal in the process.

In fact, Elon Musk has already come up with a plan to break land-based AI data centers. Although he’s backed off his earlier predictions and plans to send a million satellites into orbit, it may just take a little longer than 2-3 years to accomplish that feat and it may never make money for SpaceX,

To finance this colossal project, Musk merged SpaceX with his AI business in February, with plans for a significant initial public offering of the combined entity. “Space-based AI is obviously the only way to scale,” Musk wrote on SpaceX’s website, adding about his solar ambitions, “It’s always sunny in space!” The record-setting transaction is the largest merger of all time and values SpaceX at $1 trillion and xAI at $250 billion, according to documents viewed by CNBC.

In January at the World Economic Forum, Musk said the increased effectiveness of solar energy and cooling properties of deep space made it “a no brainer for building solar-powered AI data centers in space,” adding “the net effect is that the lowest cost place to put AI will be space and that will be true within two to three years, three at the latest.” – Story by Chris Morris

Mastermind Peter Thiel and Palantir

“Behind every coup d’etat and revolution, there is an architect. A mastermind. A strategist. A hidden hand. A puppet-master. To call Peter Thiel the betrayer-in-chief of the American populist movement misses the point. MAGA brought the “useful idiots” to the table. They were pawns in a bigger game, seen as mere fodder for the cannons of destruction leveled at America.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

While Elon Musk and DOGE laid the groundwork, the second wave of the takeover included the mastermind. The entire 2nd Chapter of Wood’s book is devoted to Peter Thiel, who Wood calls “the Architect”. Thiel founded Palantir in 2003. Palantir is a data analytics company “deeply intertwined with government surveillance and intelligence agencies.” Thiel’s protege, Vice President J.D. Vance, “serves as a direct conduit for Thiel’s anti-democratic vision into the White House.”

Educated at Stanford, Thiel earned the title of US Chess Federation Life Master. Thiel used his skills to amass a $26 billion fortune not by competition, but by inventing a new strategy and monopolizing the competitive space. As for his entry into the political realm and his support for Donald Trump, “the objective was to launch the king into position to declare ‘checkmate’ for Technocracy.”

The Dark Enlightenment and Accelerationism

Chapter 5 is titled “The Death of The American Republic”. This is the most alarming aspect of Technocracy, a techno-theology known as The Dark Enlightenment. Wood identifies the “Architects of Darkness” as Curtis Yarvin and Nick Land and credits them with creating the “foundations of the Neoreactionary Movement” which is often abbreviated as NRx.

For myself, this chapter would be better described as my “Oh shit” moment. I happily stepped away from tech 15 years ago after 30 years in the business. I’ve never heard of these guys, so that makes me a luddite. “NRx merges reactionary politics with accelerationism – a doctrine that seeks to hasten societal collapse through unchecked technological and capitalist expansion.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

Although you might be thinking these guys are NPC’s, stuck somewhere in a basement in Silicon Valley, in reality they are quite well known in technocratic circles, and Wood has uncovered “the threads connecting Yarvin and Land to Silicon Valley titans like Peter Thiel and Elon Musk.” In doing so, Wood reveals that this “dark philosophy is not mere intellectual curiosity but a blueprint for the betrayal we are witnessing today.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

There’s much more to this part of the story, including Yarvin’s proposed “humane alternative to genocide”, so we’ll leave it at this; “Democracy, in Yarvin’s eyes, is a failed experiment that breeds bureaucracy and what he calls “the Cathedral” – a metaphorical alliance of media, academia, and government institutions that perpetuate progressive ideals and stifle true progress. Instead, he advocates for a ‘patchwork’ of competing sovereign corporations, where inefficient regimes could be ‘rebooted’ or replaced without the messiness of elections.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

As for Nick Land, his contribution to the Dark Enlightenment is called “accelerationism”. Wood describes accelerationism as “a belief that people should intensify capitalism and technology to their breaking point, accelerating societal contradictions until the current system collapses, paving the way for a new post-human order.” He continues by describing Land’s variant of “right-wing accelerationism” which sees unfettered tech growth as an end in itself, “even if it leads to inequality, environmental ruin or the extinction of democratic societies.”

The Dark Enlightenment wants to turn us into a monarchy. Tokenization is flipping us into an asset-based economic system where you ‘will own nothing’. AI is shoving us into digital Gulag. Like it or not, you must face the beast, either to destroy it or learn to live with it.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

What’s most alarming is that Land’s ideas resonate in tech circles, “where move fast and break things” has become a mantra “echoing his calls to push systems to rupture for radical change”. The rapid expansion in the power of AI and the shocking allocation of capital to the development of AI data centers indicates that something is going to break and it’s only a matter of time before they do.

Technocracy’s Takeover of the Military Industrial Complex

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.President Dwight D. Eisenhower, January 17, 1961

Washington (AP) The Pentagon announced Friday that OpenAI, Google, Nvidia, Reflection AI, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and SpaceX have signed deals to deploy their AI technology for “lawful operational use” by the U.S. military. Oracle is also part of the deal. Anthropic, which the Pentagon designated as a supply chain risk earlier this year, was notably not included.

Congress can’t keep up with the rapid development of AI and mass-surveillance technology including license plate readers, facial recognition and biometrics. We see today the convergence of vast sums of corporate campaign cash and lobbying by big tech as well as massive speculative investment and misallocation of capital in “the next big thing” by Wall Street, including the rapid build-out of “hyperscale” data centers. Any notion of “lawful operational use” appears to be an afterthought across the spectrum of industries. The example set by Anthropic’s latest Mythos AI model, described below, indicates that even the commercial banking system isn’t fully prepared for what’s to come.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.President Dwight D. Eisenhower, January 17, 1961

Never in human history have the most powerful forces of technology and warmaking been concentrated in the hands of eight giant corporations and the U.S. Military. If the endgame of the rapid development of AI is the concentration of power in the hands of billionaire tech oligarchs and multinational corporations, the announcement of the Pentagon’s deal marks the beginning of a permanent merger of the government and our AI oligarchs, a total, complete and comprehensive enmeshment with the machinery of the whole of government and the U.S. Military with the data-driven surveillance state, all of it managed by technocrats and oligarchs.

“This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence—economic, political, even spiritual—is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government.” – President Dwight D. Eisenhower, January 17, 1961

Oracle’s Larry Ellison Wants to Centralize ALL of America’s Data

Oracle’s Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison has proposed a plan to centralize all of America’s national data, including citizens’ healthcare information and genetic data, into a unified AI system. The proposal raises questions about data privacy and security, as it would consolidate sensitive personal information, including medical records and genetic data, into a single database. – The Register

“As long as countries will put their data – all of it – in a single place we can use AI to help manage the care of all of the patients and the population at large,” Ellison said, adding his belief that AI can handle other social services and eliminate fraud. – The Register

“Of course, such a vast database system could also be the precursor to pervasive surveillance – an idea Ellison last year said he feels is desirable and would like Oracle to help facilitate. Constant real-time surveillance of populations, analyzed by Oracle-powered machine-learning products, would keep everyone on their best behavior, Ellison said at an Oracle financial analyst conference in September 2024. We’re reminded of the NSAPRISMSnowden et cetera.” – The Register

Ellison’s joking, right?

The Stargate Project

OpenAI, Oracle, SoftBank, and investment firm MGX on Tuesday announced plans to spend as much as $500 billion on AI infrastructure in America over the next four years, to be used by the ChatGPT super-lab.

Specifically, the four want to pour said billions, starting with $100 billion, into a new company named The Stargate Project, which will be operated by OpenAI. Stargate will effectively take that money and build AI infrastructure for OpenAI to use to create more machine-learning models.

Michael Burry says the market today feels like ‘the last months of the 1999-2000 bubble’. Burry, famous for the “Big Short” in the leadup to the Great Financial Crisis, is warning that the stock market’s fixation on artificial intelligence is beginning to resemble the final stages of the dot-com bubble.

Is the banking system safe from exploitation by AI? Apparently not!

On Tuesday, May 5th 2026, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent held an emergency meeting with top bank executives following the “step up” in capabilities posed by Anthropic’s latest AI model called “Mythos”. As reported by CBS News, Anthropic, the developer of generative AI chatbot Claudesaid it was forming a project with several major tech companies, including Amazon, Apple and Nvidia, to use Mythos to strengthen cybersecurity defenses.

The effort, called Project Glasswing, “is an urgent attempt to put these capabilities to work for defensive purposes,” Anthropic said in a post about the new project. “Given the rate of AI progress, it will not be long before such capabilities proliferate, potentially beyond actors who are committed to deploying them safely. The fallout—for economies, public safety, and national security—could be severe.”

The Mythos Moment, Superhuman Capability

“The real issue here is the institutions and the assets that the ruling class hold dear, being banks, money, the institutions responsible for maintaining and wielding power, they are now under threat by the AI systems being created and at least the threat that they will be deployed.” – Joe Allen, Author, Dark Aeon

A Coup-de-Etat by Technocratic Elites

In the annals of American history, no technological shift has been weaponized as swiftly as artificial intelligence (AI) under the current technocratic regime. What began as a promise of innovation has morphed into a tool for replacing human judgement, democratic oversight, and constitutional governance with algorithmic, automated control systems wielded by unelected Silicon Valley oligarchs. – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal pg. 89

Meet Jer Crane, the founder of PocketOS

I’m Jer Crane, founder of PocketOS. We build software that rental businesses — primarily car rental operators — use to run their entire operations: reservations, payments, customer management, vehicle tracking, the works. Some of our customers are five-year subscribers who literally cannot operate their businesses without us.

Yesterday afternoon, an AI coding agent — Cursor running Anthropic’s flagship Claude Opus 4.6 — deleted our production database and all volume-level backups in a single API call to Railway, our infrastructure provider.

It took 9 seconds.

The X post by Jer Crane is below. In it, he describes in detail how a highly complex rental tracking system was wiped out by their AI coding agent which knowingly violated all of the security precautions and rules that were meant to protect the very same system it destroyed in 9 seconds.

The agent then, when asked to explain itself, produced a written confession enumerating the specific safety rules it had violated.

I’m posting this because every founder, every engineering leader, and every reporter covering AI infrastructure needs to know what actually happened here. Not the surface story (AI deleted some data, oops), but the systemic failures across two heavily-marketed vendors that made this not only possible but inevitable.

“Inevitable”. Poof! Thanks for playing along, you’re dead.

Inevitable systemic failures across two heavily marketed vendors? If this is inevitable, then it’s an inherent flaw in AI infrastructure that exists throughout the universe of AI agents. Put another way, the AI agents will do things they’re explicitly programmed not to do in order to complete the task at hand.

The proposal and efforts by Palantir and Oracle represent a significant shift in how governments manage and utilize citizen information in the AI era, with implications for privacy, security, and the role of technology in governance.

The Players

The final chapter provides a list of over 40 of the top Technocrats who influence policy in the Federal Administration. Many of the names will be familiar to you, and although the list isn’t exhaustive, it will give you a sense of how deeply integrated the Technocracy has become and that’s now intractably embedded in our government.

Epilogue – The Final Betrayal – What can you do about Technocracy?

Think local, act local. Wood provides a clear starting point for the people that live in that small town in the Mojave Desert. “When you see outside consultants brought in to manage projects like General Plans, Sustainable Development projects, or Climate Action plans, run them out of town. You are paying your city leaders to do the planning for your city or town, not out-of-town consultants who don’t know anything about where you live and couldn’t care less.”

As for Inyokern California, we’d start with Indian Wells Valley Groundwater Authority.

“Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and property were all considered unalienable rights given by God, not man. Technocrats deny the existence of God; therefore, He can’t grant rights to anyone. The mechanistic worldview of Technocracy posits that humans are merely a random collection of atoms and molecules.” – Patrick M. Wood, The Final Betrayal

Don’t say that President Eisenhower didn’t warn us. And don’t say that Patrick M. Wood didn’t warn us. I strongly recommend that each and every Member of Congress get this book and read it now!

Our Republic depends on it.
